The Lynn Museum has been collecting since 1844 and has amassed a diverse collection of over 55,000 objects.

Enquiries

For collections enquiries email collections.lynnmuseum@norfolk.gov.uk

A member of our Curatorial Team will get back to you, but please note that due to the high volume of enquiries we receive this may take some time.

Donations

Most of the collection is built up from people donating items to the museum. We are very grateful for all offers of donation.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept everything which we are offered.

    • If we already have an example of an object within our collections we will not duplicate it with a new item

    • We have to use our space and resources wisely

    • We can only collect things with a good King’s Lynn and West Norfolk connection

If you would like to offer an item for donation, email collections.lynnmuseum@norfolk.gov.uk

Please include as much information about the item as possible including details of the object’s condition and how you acquired it. Include a photo and dimensions as this will help us to make our decision.

A member of our Curatorial Team will get back to you, but please note that due to the high volume of offers we receive this may take some time. Please do not bring your items here without an appointment, our Curatorial Team are very busy and you may have a wasted journey.
