Please note that departments may require two weeks notice for an appointment.
To view a book from one of the departmental libraries a minimum of 24 hours notice is required.
Identifications
Norfolk Museums and Archaeology Service deals with hundreds of identification enquiries every year. If you have an object that you would like our curatorial staff to identify or find out more information about, you can take it to the Study Centre reception desk (not Norwich Castle), Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Normally identifications take at least 12 weeks, but this could be longer depending on the number of objects, difficulty of enquiry, and workload of the relevant curator.
It was a thrill to handle Castle Acre Service Book, so obviously used - candle grease and thumb prints - by monkish hands so long ago.
