Norfolk Landscape Archaeology
Welcome to the web pages of the Norfolk Historic Environment Division.
Our aim is to provide a countywide integrated environmental recording and field archaeological service.
To do this, the Norfolk Historic Environment Division consists of two sections:
Norfolk Landscape Archaeology
East Anglian Archaeology
The Division is overseen by the County Archaeologist for Norfolk.
We aim to work closely with partners at all levels. We have important links with English Heritage and other national agencies, we provide services to the county and district councils and we act as contractor and consultant to both the private and public sectors. Most importantly, we aim to provide services to the public and to encourage access, both physically and intellectually, to the rich historic environment of Norfolk.
The lead officer is:
Norfolk Landscape Archaeology
David Gurney, County Archaeologist
