Fossil and Geology Youth Project

Ancient House Thetford in partnership with Kick The Dust-Norfolk is holding a new three-day event for teens to twenties interested in fossils and geology.

Working with other young people, participants will have a unique opportunity to research and create their own fossil exhibition from the museum’s collection- and much more. They will handle genuine fossils, explore how they are identified and discover what they can tell us about Norfolk’s pre-history, then create a museum display and events programme including digital animation.

Dr David Waterhouse, Senior Curator of Natural History, and other museum professionals will be on hand for advice and guidance. This event runs over three Saturdays and participants will need to come to all three- places are limited so advanced booking is essential!

‘Fossils and Geology at Ancient House’ runs on 7, 14, and 21 November (you will need to come to all three).

Kick the Dust-Norfolk is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with YMCA, Creative Collisions Youth Arts Network and Norfolk Museums.

Our Discovery Tuesdays and Special Event Days will return when the museum reopens.
