Afternoon Talk - A Walk in the Park
King's Lynn has a set of parks in its town centre generally described as The Walks, a grade II listed park covering 17 hectares. However, that description only refers to a section of what is collectively one of the largest town centre parks in the country. Hear more about how the parks came into being and the hidden secrets that lie within with Town Guide Gary Walker.

Wild Night Out
Have a Wild Night Out at Gressenhall Farm & Workhouse! Join us afterhours for a special event with live music, bat walks and moth trapping. Attendees are welcome to arrive from 6:45pm for a 7:15pm performance from Norfolk musicians, Clark and Zuppardi. Before listening to tunes from Lutestring, their songbook inspired by British moths, attendees can pop into our newly finished pub display in Village Row and buy a drink (cash only). After the performance, members of the Norfolk & Norwich Bat Group and local moth enthusiast David Norgate will share more about what they do, and the species to look out for during Norfolk summers. Attendees will take one of two led bat walk routes complete with bat detectors, and return to the main site to open a moth trap together at the end of the event to see what might be waiting. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately for the evening's weather including sturdy shoes, and to bring their own torch.

Two Day Basketry Course with Karen Bek
Willow weaving expert Karen Bek is bringing her expertise to Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse with a two-day basket-making workshop. As well as working on their own willow skills, participants will have chance to connect with Gressenhall's collection of basketry-related objects from Norfolk's past - and will end the weekend with their own traditional round English basket to take home. All tools and materials supplied. Please be advised that refreshments are not provided; you are welcome to bring your own picnic lunch and the Mardlers' Rest Café will be open throughout the day. Basketry can be hard on the hands and does require some strength. Karen will be able to help you if your hands get tired and the two days enables plenty of short breaks. Bring a notebook and pen if you want to take notes. As this workshop is being run by an external partner, we are not able to offer our usual membership discounts.
