Visitors with visual impairment
Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse is a large site. All buildings and displays have level access except for the school room which has a ramp. There is a ramped entrance to the cafe and its courtyard garden. There is a gravel courtyard and paths around some of the workhouse buildings.
The Workhouse Galleries have folders containing large print versions of the gallery text. Magnifiers are available to use within these spaces.
Some of the Workhouse Galleries have audio which is triggered by movement. These audios help explore what life was like within the workhouse for the inmates and the staff.
There are many objects and displays which you are welcome to touch or handle, these are items not within cases or behind barriers.
Assistance dogs are welcome. Please ask at the shop or cafe for a bowl of water.
