Information for families

Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse is a great place for visitors of all ages.  Here are some tips to make your visit even more comfortable and enjoyable.

Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse is a large site for those exploring with pushchairs and prams.  All buildings and displays have level access except for the school room which has a ramp.  There is a ramped entrance to the cafe and its courtyard garden. There is a gravel courtyard and paths around some of the workhouse buildings. There is a rough, sloped track to the farm.

There is a lift in the workhouse building in the ‘Staff’ gallery on the ground floor.  If you need help to use the lift, please talk to a member of staff.

Baby changing facilities can be found in the Welcome Area, in the Mardlers’ Rest Cafe, in the Workhouse Galleries and on the Farm.

Our fantastic woodland playground is a world of tree houses, walkways and adventure suitable for all ages.  For younger visitors, there’s a special area designed for those under 5s.

There are extra activities on for families each day of the Norfolk school holidays.  Please visit our What’s On pages for more information.
