Norfolk Collections Centre
The Norfolk Collections Centre is the Norfolk Museums Service’s open access storage facility. With over 3 million objects in our collections, we need somewhere big enough to store all those not currently on display.
The objects held by Norfolk Museums Service primarily focus on Norfolk including its history, culture, and environment. We also have some wonderful collections that are a window on the world.
Some of the ‘star’ objects in the Norfolk Collections Centre include:
- The West Runton mammoth
- The famous Norwich snap dragons
- A mustard stamper used to crush mustard seeds at the Colman’s factory in the 19th century
Book a behind the scenes tour
Each year we set aside several days to allow public access to the Norfolk Collections Centre. You can join us for a one-hour tour where you get exclusive access to explore our stored collection.
This event is free but you must book a ticket.
