An introduction to working with Gressenhall Farms’ Suffolk Horses

This is an out of the ordinary opportunity for anyone with an interest in the work we do at Gressenhall.  The day will be very practical. You will be working with the horses, alongside Richard Dalton, Gressenhall Farm Manager. Numbers will be limited to four per day.

The day will consist of:

  • An introduction to our team of Suffolk Punches and how we use them
  • Basic handling and grooming
  • Harnessing
  • Working with horses and staff on the farm
  • Cup of tea and a summary of the day

This will be a physically active day and will be outside regardless of the weather (within reason!). You will need to wear appropriate foot wear and clothing. Refreshments and lunch provided. Please note any specific dietary requirements when making your booking.

Adults £150, Norfolk Museums Pass and Friend of Gressenhall £135.

Ploughing Experience Day with Gressenhall's Suffolk Punch Horses

This one day course, with Richard Dalton, Farm Manager at Gressenhall Farm, will cover the basics of ploughing, including how to harness a pair of our Suffolk punch horses and prepare the plough for work in the field.

By the end of the day, participants will understand the basic settings for starting to plough a field with two heavy horses and will have had hands on experience of ploughing.

This course is suitable for people who already work with horses, or have attended the “Introduction to working with Gressenhall Farms’ Suffolk Horses” course. This will be a physical day and will be outside regardless of the weather. Appropriate footwear and clothing will be necessary.

Adults £150, Norfolk Museums Pass and Friend of Gressenhall £135.
