Museums pass

Dear Museums Pass holder - do we have your up-to-date email address?

To relieve pressure on the postal service, we are trying to communicate with you as much as possible by email.

We have email addresses attached to about 85% of our membership records. The remainder have no email address, this may be because members have signed up on-line to have e-newsletters sent to them but we don’t know which membership record the email applies to.

How to update your Museums Pass record

So, if you haven’t received the information below by email, or you’ve received a letter from us telling you we don’t have your email address, would you please email us your name, postal address and membership card number to, so we can match up your information to your record.

You can also send this information to this email address if you have changed your email address or you prefer us to contact you using a different one.

Once we have your email address we can email you when we have news of the museums re-opening, and there may be more information specifically for our Museums Pass members, which won’t be sent to our general e-mail list.

An update for our members

As you will be aware, all ten of our museums have closed in response to government advice to reduce social interaction and reduce pressure on the NHS.  We will re-open the museums as soon as we are advised it is safe to do so.

As Museums Pass members, you are vital to our museum’s future.  We are conscious that you will not be able to get full value from your Museums Pass as a result of self-isolation and museum closures, so we are considering ways in which we can compensate members, once we know how long the museums will be closed.

We hope most of our members will want to renew their Museum Pass, retain their current Direct Debit and continue to enjoy the benefits of membership when the museums re-open. If you retain your current Direct Debit instruction, there will be no delay in you using your Museums Pass when we re-open and we will be most grateful for your continued support. 

However, we understand that some of our members will be facing financial challenges as a result of COVID-19 and may choose not to renew their membership.  If you do need to cancel your Direct Debit, notify your bank and please let us know too; so we don’t send you unwanted notifications and reminders.

We will continue to monitor government advice relating to the COVID-19 virus and advise you of changes to museum openings as soon as we can.
