Crome's Norwich: 1821-2021
2021 is the bicentenary of the death of John Crome, one of Britain’s great Romantic artists.
Crome’s Norwich: 1821-2021 takes a closer look at the artist’s relationship with his native city, then and now, through the lens of contemporary photographer, Nick Stone. Nick has walked in the footsteps of John Crome, along river banks and city paths to revisit the locations which inspired him. The result is a collection of stunning images, which blend Crome’s works with contemporary photography, bringing the story of Crome’s Norwich up to date.
To accompany the Crome's Norwich exhibition, Nick Stone has created a self-guided walking tour which takes in some of the locations featured in his work. Follow in Crome's - and Nick's - footsteps and see the places which inspired them both. And why not take your own snaps too?

This exhibition complements the major celebration of Crome’s art on display at Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery: A Passion for Landscape: Rediscovering John Crome, 17 May – 5 September 2021.
