Norwich Castle is undergoing some exciting changes! As part of the Norwich Castle: Gateway to Medieval England project, the Castle Keep is being redeveloped to restore it to its previous incarnation as a Norman royal palace.
The work will take place from early 2019 to summer 2020, during which the Castle Keep will be closed. The rest of the museum will be open on a phased basis.
Please be aware that events which use the Castle Keep may not be available or may be adapted to use different spaces in the museum during this period.
Pretend to be kings and queens through story, song and play. Admire the space and size of the keep, discover the well and the medieval toilets for the royal bottom!
This session is an adaptation of Michael Rosen’s classic We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. Find the polar bear, explore reed beds, seashore and hedgerow and meet the wise owl and other animals.
Rags the dog has gone missing. Journey through the paintings to find him! Use rhyme and role play to ask farmers and fishermen on the way. Will he be found?
