Please note due to the building works to transform Norwich Castle Keep, the original medieval parts of the Castle site, including the Keep itself, are currently closed to the public. For more information read the paragraph ‘What to expect when you visit’ below.
The museum will be open from Monday – Saturday, 10am – 4.30pm with last admission 4pm, Sunday afternoon 1pm – 4.30pm with last admission 4pm.
Booking your tickets
It's best to book your tickets online. You will need to book at least a day in advance of your visit and choose a specific day and arrival time for your visit.
Unsold tickets will be available on the door at the museum but we recommend you book in advance, as you will not be allowed into the museum unless sufficient unsold tickets are available when you arrive.

The entry time on your ticket is not unique to you. Several ticket holders may have the same time slot and you might need to wait until the admissions area is clear before you can enter.
What to expect when you visit
Construction work has begun on the exciting Norwich Castle: Royal Palace Reborn project to transform the Castle’s Norman Keep.
Combined with health and safety measures to protect visitors and staff, this means some areas of the Castle site are not accessible. This includes the original medieval areas of the Castle, including the Keep itself, and the Anglo Saxon and Viking Gallery.
The Norwich café and shop are also closed, but we have a pop-up catering and retail offer in their place. You can still enjoy our beautiful Art Galleries, Natural History Galleries, Decorative Arts gallery, Royal Norfolk Regimental collections and temporary exhibitions. A one-way system is in place to help guide visitors safely through the galleries which remain open. For full details, follow the links below.
