Life at the Time of the Great Fire of London

What was life like in the 1660s at the time of the Great Fire? Find out by examining artefacts and exploring rooms furnished in the style of the period.

Christmas at Strangers Hall

Celebrate Christmas Victorian style! Meet members of the Bolingbroke family and explore their home. Make a Christmas craft and listen to their favourite Christmas tales.

Life in Tudor Norwich at the time of Robert Kett

10am-2pm, £5 per pupil

The year is 1550 and the Mayor has thwarted Kett’s Rebellion. Meet different characters and find out about their different opinions of the uprising. Try on authentic Tudor costumes and make your own piece of weaving to take home.

Journey of a Freeman

10am-2pm, free to schools within a 20 mile radius of Norwich

It is 16th century in Norwich when the city was a thriving industrial centre. Meet four characters who help to explain the journey from apprentice to Freeman of the city. Funded by the Freemen of Norwich as part of their 700 years celebration.

Tudor Norwich: A Place of Sanctuary?

10am-2pm, £5 per pupil

1565, Norwich: the mayor and city authorities have invited foreign refugees from the Low Countries to live and work in the city. Meet four citizens of Norwich and find out what they think about the arrival of the 'Strangers'.
