Expect a friendly and relaxed workshop introducing you to the wonderful world of green wood carving, making spoons and spatulas - using a shave horse and a selection of different hand tools. Follow the whole process from choosing and sawing your own log, then using an axe and mallet to split the wood, and then carving it into shape using a drawknife, hook knife, and a carving knife. Although output for the day depends on the individual, there is time and scope to make several items in the workshop; ideal for beginners or improvers. 20 September
